>From The Vault: My Dark Valentine

>I’m not really fond of this manicure and there is still a lot of time till Valentine’s Day, but I decided to post this because it involves my new find which makes me greatly happy. A few days ago I discovered Rimmel London’s metallic polishes. I don’t know about the name of this collection, but all names have something to do with the word “Rock”. I got 4 of them, and left out the silver, the gold and the bright pink (for which I might go back). I was about to leave this polish behind, too, because I’m not really interested in red polishes; but then I discovered that it was pretty opaque for a red, and I thought “Could this be?”
If you’re familiar with konad, you probably know how hard it is to find a red that is visible on darker colors, such as black. Well, I’m happy to inform that I found my dream stamping red =)

Rimmel London Rock’n Red is really good for stamping, being visible on both light and dark colors. I stamped the lip stains from BM02 over black with Rock’n Red, and the images came out pretty crisp and clear.

Nails were uneven at the time I did this manicure, so only two fingers.
I don’t know how recent this collection is, but if you can’t find this polish, I think Jessica Cinderella Red shows up really well on black. Maybe you can try that one out if it’s easier to find. =)

Bu manikürü fazla beğendiğim söylenemez, zaten daha Sevgililer Günü’ne de çok var. (Bence dünyanın en saçma özel günü ya, neyse =) Bu yazıyı yayınlamamdaki asıl amaç, yeni keşfettiğim bir ojeyi sizlerle paylaşmak istemem.
Birkaç gün önce Watson’s mağazasında Rimmel’in yeni (?) ojelerini gördüm. Tamamen metalik renklerden oluşan bu koleksiyondan 4 oje aldım. Aslında şimdi göstereceğim ojeyi bırakacaktım çünkü kırmızı ojeler o kadar ilgi alanıma girmiyor, ama şişenin kapağını şöyle bir açınca ojenin kırmızıdan beklenmeyecek kadar opak olduğunu gördüm. Konad ile ilgilenenler bilir, konad’a uygun kırmızı oje bulmak zordur, açık renkler üzerinde çoğu kırmızı belli olur ama koyu renkler üzerinde belirgin olanına henüz rastlamamıştım ben ve arıyordum. Ve şu an gönül rahatlığıyla bulduğumu söyleyebilirim =)
Rimmel London Rock’n Red damgalamak için çok uygun, metalik yapıda olduğu için de hem açık, hem koyu renkler üzerinde çok belirgin. BM02 diskindeki dudak desenlerini siyah üzerine uyguladım, ve çok belirgin gözüktüler. Bu manikürü yaptığımda tırnaklarım biraz farklı boylardaydı, bu yüzden bu günlük sadece iki parmağımı gösteriyorum =)

>NOTD: Going Indigo

>Rimmel Blue My Mind is the perfect indigo polish. The consistency is between jelly and cream, it’s opaque in two coats and dries very fast and glossy. The color is exactly like the description of Indigo, a cross between blue and purple.
My new camera is very good with problem colors. As you know, most cameras can’t truly capture colors which are a cross between blue/green, blue/purple and red/pink. Most of the time, the pictures come out closer to the cooler one of those both colors. For example China Glaze Four Leaf Clover is a very bright Kelly green, but most pictures suggest it’s a bright turquoise. The camera I’m using can capture the color of Four Leaf Clover perfectly, but it still fails to capture the true indigo. I think it’s the most problematic shade to capture with a camera =) The color is tweaked a bit to resemble how it looks IRL.

The pattern is from disk bm16, and the stamping polish is Golden Rose Nail Art #107. That nail art polish is such an opaque, shiny, foily silver; never had a silver stamping polish that looks so mirror-like! It’s amazing, if you can find this line, don’t skip on the metallic shades. Other than silver there is a gold, bronze and a brown. They all work great with konad.

Kameralar genellikle mavi/yeşil, mavi/mor, kırmızı/pembe arasındaki geçiş renklerini iyi yakalayamıyor. Bu renklerden soğuk olanına dönük çıkıyor resimlerde renkler. Benim kameram genellikle yeşilleri, mercan renklerini çok iyi yakalıyor ama bu renkte sınıfta kaldı =) Her kamera gibi maviye dönük çıktı resimlerde, ben de gerçek haline benzesin diye biraz oynadım rengiyle.
Desen bm16 diskinden, damga için Golden Rose Nail Art #107 ojesini kullandım. Kullandığım en ayna gibi metalik oje herhalde. İnanılmaz opak bir oje ve konad’la çok rahat kullanılır. Alix Avien de buna benzer bir oje çıkarmış, daha rastlamadım ama. Bu seriyi görürseniz, simli hariç bütün hepsiyle konad yapılıyor, özellikle metalik olanlarla. Bu hariç altın, bronz ve kahverengi var, ben hepsini denedim, konad ile çok uyumlular.

Today I applied Rimmel London Sky High. In the store I thought it’s a sky blue with a slight green tinge, but it’s darker & greener than that. It’s almost a Tiffany Blue, very gorgeous. Opaque in two coats, dried quickly and shiny, one of my favorite colors, what more could I ask for? =)
Then I decided to do some freehand designs. I used black and white creme polishes and a tiny brush for the cats, and blue & green rhinestones for the eyes. For the itty-bitty noses I used Rimmel London Rose Libertine (white cat) and my pale pink franken (black cats).

I’m thinking about getting more nail art brushes & switching to acrylic paint for freehand designs as soon as I can. Working with nail polish is hard, because it dries uneven & brushstroke-y. Will any acrylic paint I buy be safe for the nails, or do they make special acrylic paint just for nail art? Please let me know if you’re familiar with acrylics =)

Bugün tırnaklarımda Rimmel London Sky High var. Capitol Watson’s mağazasından aldım bu ojeyi. Işıklar altında daha gök mavisine yakın bir renk gibi görünüyordu, ama eve geldiğimde aslında daha koyu ve daha yeşil olduğunu gördüm. Turkuaz benim en sevdiğim renklerden, bu yüzden hayalkırıklığına uğramak şöyle dursun, çok mutlu oldum =) İki katta opak oluyor, ayrıca gerçekten vaadettiği gibi 60 saniyede kuruyor. Bu renkleri seviyorsanız yakınınızdaki Watson’s mağazasına bir göz atın derim 😉
Sonra beyaz ve siyah oje kullanarak kediler yaptım. Gözleri için mavi ve yeşil taşlar, burunları için Rimmel London Rose Libertine (beyaz kedi) ve kendi yaptığım meşhur açık pembe ojemi kullandım (siyah kediler).
Bu aralar ellerimle çizmeye sardım, en kısa zamanda desen yapmak için birkaç ince fırça ve akrilik boya almayı düşünüyorum.

>NOTD: Happy Halloween!

>Happy Halloween guys! Although we don’t celebrate Halloween in Turkey, I did a Halloween manicure today =) I hope you like it despite my limited artistic ability =)
The most important part of this manicure is the thumb. When it was just an idea, I thought it would be easy, but turns out it’s not! =D I thought of giving up a while after I started arranging the beads, but finally, I managed to put together something decent. I used orange beads for the Jack-O-Lantern face, and a green flower for the stem =) I thought of painting the stem in green, but then I got lazy =D

Cadılar Bayramı kutlu olsun =) Türkiye’de kutlamıyoruz ama, bence çok sevimli bir gün Cadılar Bayramı. Bir Harry Potter fanatiği olarak büyücüler ve cadıları çok seviyorum =) Bu güne uygun bir manikür yaptım, umarım kısıtlı sanatsal yeteneğime rağmen hoşunuza gider =D
En çok başparmağıma yaptığım desen uğraştırdı beni. Turuncu boncuklarla Cadılar Bayramı’nın simgesi olan balkabağı yapmayı düşünmüştüm, ama yaparken gerçekten uğraştım ve zorlandım, hiç kolay olmadı. Ama sonunda çabalarım sonuç verdi ve ortaya bir balkabağı çıktı =) Boncuklar ve tepesindeki yaprak yerine geçen yeşil çiçek Feryal Bijuteri’den.
Diğer tırnaklarımdaki desenler, soldan sağa: Siyah oje üzerine BM13 diskindeki örümcek ağı (konad’ın gümüş rengi ojesi ile), BM13 diskindeki yarasalar (Flor Mar Neon #04 üzerine siyah ile), Rimmel Blue My Mind üzerine beyaz ve siyah oje ile hayalet, son olarak da China Glaze Spellbound simli oje.

>NOTD: Mint and Roses & 200th Post!

>Hello everyone! This is my 200th post =) I thought this special post deserved a special manicure, so I took my time.
When I first saw this manicure at Nails by Rachel Blog, I went kinda crazy because they looked soo awesome to me! I’ve wanted to make my own version ever since. I was unsure how to paint roses that look realistic from a distance, but thank God, my boyfriend is an artist =) He taught me how to paint a realistic looking little rose and together we practiced a bit. Of course these roses are pretty amateur and I couldn’t do them as nicely as he showed me, plus the topcoat blended everything together, but I think they suffice for now =)

Here is everything I used.
From Left to Right: Essie Mint Candy Apple for the ring finger. Essie Pretty Edgy and Orly Enchanted Forest for the leaves. China Glaze Sugar High and China Glaze Heli-Yum for the roses. And finally, Rimmel London Rose Libertine for the base of all other nails. And round pink glitter for the… well, glitter =)

I did a reverse moon on my thumb. I think it looks interesting! =) I wish I used another base color for my thumb, though, because the rose is not as visible as I hoped.

Herkese merhaba =) Bu benim 200. yazım, bu yüzden özel bir manikür yapayım dedim.
Bu manikürü Nails by Rachel blogunda ilk gördüğümde resmen ağzım açık kaldı, çok çok beğendim. Tam benim tarzım olduğunu düşündüm ve o günden beri de yapmak istiyordum. Ancak belli bir mesafeden bakılığında gerçekçi görünmeleri için gülleri nasıl yapmam gerektiğini bilmiyordum. Neyse ki çok şanslıyım, çünkü erkek arkadaşım ressam =) Bana, küçük ama gerçekçi bir gülün nasıl yapılması gerektiğini gösterdi ve birlikte biraz çalıştık. Tabi benim güllerim biraz amatör ve onun bana gösterdiği kadar güzel yapamadım, ve cila da detayları biraz birbirine karıştırdı, ama bence sonuç kötü olmadı. =)

Yüzük parmağımda Essie Mint Candy Apple, yapraklar için Essie Pretty Edgy ve Orly Enchanted Forest, güller için China Glaze Sugar High ve China Glaze Heli-Yum, diğer bütün tırnaklar için de Rimmel London Rose Libertine. Son olarak, Viva La Nails’den gelen pembe pullar.
Baş parmağımda en altta başka bir oje kullansaydım gül daha çok belli olacaktı, ama neyse. Farklı bir versiyonunu yaparım belki daha sonra, bu biraz aceleye geldi =)

>NOTD: Rimmel London Best In Show

>Lastly, here is Rimmel London Best In Show. I thought this one would be my favorite based on what I saw in the bottle, but on the nail it falls a bit flat. Best In Show is a Jazzberry Jam jelly with fuchsia shimmer. Although it sounds mouthwatering, once on the nail the shimmer is barely visible. And how should I put it? It’s not deep at all. The color is really nice and appropriate for fall, though. Here is a close-up of the bottle:

Although my camera has superb macro capabilities, it was hard to capture the shimmer, because like I said, it looks flat once on the nail. The application was fine, it was opaque in three coats, and dried a bit slower than average.

Son olarak Rimmel London Best In Show’u göstereceğim. Şişesine bakılırsa koleksiyonun en harika ojesi bu olmalıyı, fakat sürdükten sonra biraz hayal kırıklığına uğradım. O derinlik tırnakta tamamen kayboluyor. Gerçi sonbahar için oldukça uygun bir renk.
Kameramın makro resim çekme özelliği çok iyi olsa da, bu ojenin ışıltısını yakalamakta zorlandım çünkü bir şekilde sönük kalıyor ve ışıltılar belirgin değil. Sürülüşü iyiydi, üç katta opak oldu ve biraz yavaş kurudu.
Belki başka bir renk üzerinde daha güzel durabilir. Denemek lazım.

>NOTD: Rimmel London Night Flight

>This might just be the star of the show. Night Flight is a dark, dark indigo creme. Actually it has a certain warmness, but it’s very dark and a bit desaturated, and that makes it look cool.

It reminds me of the color of ink. I think it’s a much darker and muted version of Dark Tyrian Purple. Unfortunately, I can’t always find dead-on color names on Wikipedia, but I try to stay true to the hue.
The formula was consistent. I used 3 coats for this manicure. Dried fast and glossy.

I’m not much into konading these days, so I used purple/green flowers from the Essence Glitter Mix wheel to bling it up a bit. I think it turned out nicely. This might be one of my favorite manicures of all time.

Bu oje, bu serinin starı olabilir bence. Night Flight, çok çok koyu bir mor. Aslında biraz sıcak tonlu sayılabilir ama çok koyu ve biraz da soluk olduğu için soğuk gibi görünüyor gözüme. Bana mürekkep rengini çağrıştırdı.
Formülü diğer Rimmel ojeler gibiydi. 3 kat sürdüm, çabuk ve ıslak görünümlü olarak kurudu.
Bu günlerde konad’la fazla aram yok, bu yüzden Essence marka pulların mor/yeşil çiçek şeklinde olanlarından kullandım. Bence güzel oldu. Bu, bugüne kadar yaptığım manikürler arasında en çok beğendiklerimden biri sanırım.

>NOTD: Rimmel London Trend Spotting

>Another Rimmel London polish made of awesome. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I’m so much into seasonal colors lately. And I don’t even believe in wearing season-coordinated polishes!

Trend Spotting is a vampy purple with strong red undertones. It can be described as a darker version of Tyrian Purple. It contains a very, very subtle tonal shimmer, which makes this polish interesting. The application was smooth as butter, no cleanup was needed. This is 3 coats, by the way.

I freaking love Rimmel polishes. I think one lucky follower will receive the complete set as a part of the giveaway price, when I reach 1000 followers =)

İşte harika bir Rimmel London ojesi daha. Bilmiyorum bana ne oluyor ama bu aralar sonbahar renklerine takmış durumdayım. Ki mevsimlere göre oje sürmek falan hiç adetim değildir =)
Trend Spotting, kırmızıya dönük, vamp bir mor. Ve aynı tonlarda, hafif bir sedef içeriyor fakat çoğu ışıkta krem yapıda gibi gözüküyor. Ayrıca bu ışıltının ojeyi benzerlerinden farklı kıldığını söyleyebilirim. Sürümü çok kolaydı, hiç temizlik gerektirmedi. Bu arada, bu sürdüğüm 3 kat.
Rimmel ojelerine bayılıyorum. Sanırım bir şanslı izleyici bu serinin tamamını ödül olarak kazanacak, üstelik ödülün hepsi bu kadar da değil. Ama 1000 izleyiciye ulaştığım zaman =)

>NOTD: Rimmel London Beige Babe

>Hey guys =) This shade just may be my favorite from the new Rimmels, and when I think about I was so hesitant to buy it! But I’m so glad I did. I was starting to grow bored of all those taupes, then the brands decided to mix in some different colors! I adore Chanel Khakis polishes, and I also love the new purple-taupes (Paradoxal, Purple Grey) This one is a very nice taupe, leaning rose. It’s visibly different than the other taupes we’ve seen last year (YDKJ, Prince Charming, etc.), they all look on the cool side when compared to this one.

I think this might be defined as Rose Taupe. The consistency was just perfect. The polish applied itself, as I stood there and watched. LOL. The only drawback was the minimal dragging. The opacity was great in two coats, but I did three to cover the slightly dragged areas. By the way, this is the first wide brush I don’t hate. It’s not ginormous like Sally Hansen Salon brushes, yet shaped the same way to fit the cuticle perfectly. I didn’t clean up after application, see below:

I really really love this. Perfect for fall.

Selam =) Yeni aldığım Rimmel ojeler arasında belki en sevdiğim renk, üstelik sırf almış olmak için aldığımı düşünecek olursak! Yeterince gri-kahve ojem olduğu için almakta çekimser kalmıştım, ama çok iyi yapmışım. Gri-kahveler tam baymak üzereyken, bu sene içine başka tonlar karıştırmaya karar verdi oje firmaları. Favorilerim mor karıştırılmış gri-kahve (Paradoxal, Purple Grey) ve Chanel Khakis ojeler. Özellikle Chanel Khaki Brun ve Chanel Khaki Rose çok hoşuma gitti. İşte bu renk de geçen yıl boyunca gördüğümüz gri-kahvelerden farklı, daha çok gül rengine kaçıyor ve diğerleri bunun yanında soğuk tonlu duruyor.
Bu arada ojenin yapısı tek kelimeyle muhteşem, üstelik geniş fırçalı olmasına rağmen fırçasını çok beğendim, tırnak etinın şekliyle uyum sağlıyor. Sürdükten sonra tırnak diplerimi asetonla biraz temizlerim genelde, ama bu sefer hiç gerek olmadı. Tek kötü yanı sürülürken az miktarda sürüklenmesi, bu yüzden üç kat sürmek zorunda kaldım, yoksa iki katta opak oluyor.
Gelecek yazıda görüşmek üzere. Belki de bu akşam. 😉

>Haul: This and That =) & NOTD

>Hello guys, I’m finally back! I can’t tell how much I missed my blog, with all my beautiful friends =D I tried to go online as often as I could, but there is still so much to catch up on!
Meanwhile, I got my hands on some nice stuff. First, I’m going to show you the Rimmel London polishes I got.

From Left to Right: Night Flight, Trend Spotting, Best In Show, Reality Chic, Beige Babe.
Only skipped one color, which didn’t appeal to me at all. Beige Babe is the warmest taupe I own. Night Flight is a very, very, very dark purple, and Best In Show is just gorgeous and the most unique from the bunch. Ain’t those polishes just perfect for fall?
Then I ran around looking for Chanel Paradoxal. When I asked a few weeks ago, a store clerk said that the Chanel Fall collection will arrive in September. But now I’m learning that it has already arrived in August. And Paradoxal is sold out everywhere. I was getting crazy, but then I found this babe!
Take a look, ladies, I’m showing you the first true Paradoxal dupe to be sold =) It’s by Sevilla, a local brand. Sevilla just loves to copy Chanel polishes. First they did Particuliere, and now they did Paradoxal! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw them side by side on my nail, they are dupes! The only difference I spotted is that the base color of Sevilla is a teeny tiny bit lighter, and the shimmer is more prominent on the nail, which is a good thing =) But the difference is almost non-existent, even under strong light, so there is no reason not to call this a dupe.

I got two bottles of it for $9 =) And they are 14 ml together, so WIN!
The other Sevilla is a beautiful dove grey with a hint of lavender.
Finally, I got my hands on two Catrice and some Essence nail art stuff, with help of Jeanette =) I love the Essence glitter, they are lovely! And how adorable is Fimo fruit!

Catrice I Sea You and Catrice Sold Out Forever. Well, it’s my lucky inexpensive-chanel-duping day, I guess. =D

Finally, I have Rimmel London Reality Chic for you. It’s a beautiful reddish brown, or should I say brownish red? To me it looks darker than Zoya Cola and OPI I’m Suzi and I’m a Chocoholic, but it’s along the same line. Sorry, I can’t think of a more suitable color from the past because I don’t really invest in these colors. This one might be called Falu Red, I guess. =)

Merhaba arkadaşlar, sonunda tatilden döndüm =) Hepinizi çok özledim! Olabildiğince sık internete girmeye çalışsam da, evim gibi olmadı işte. Bu arada, yeni ojeler aldım, hepsini göstereceğim =)
Öncelikle Rimmel London’un yeni çıkan ojelerini aldım. Bunları Watsons mağazalarında bulabilirsiniz, özellikle Best In Show mükemmel. Bu koleksiyon sonbahar için çok uygun.
Sonra Chanel Paradoxal’ı aramaya başladım. Hiçbir yerde kalmamış. Sözde henüz Türkiye’ye gelmemişti, ama başka bir yerde geleli bir buçuk ay olduğunu söylediler. Neyse, ben böyle ararken Sevil’e girdim ve muhteşem bir sürprizle karşılaştım. Sevilla, Paradoxal’ın aynısını yapmış! Oje no’su 144, lütfen gidin ve alın =) Sonra bana teşekkür edin =) Ben iki tane aldım, 14 lira verdim. Normalde Chanel 56 lira. =D Bir de çok güzel gri bir ojesini aldım. Ama bu oje Claire’s de varmış, hem de yarı fiyatına. Haberiniz olsun.
Bir de Almanya’dan arkadaşım Jeanette bana ilk Catrice ojelerimi yolladı. Açık yeşil olan başka bir meşhur Chanel ojesinin aynısı. Yani Jade’in. Bugünü Chanel’i ucuza kapatma günü ilan ediyorum =)
Son olarak, tırnağımda yeni aldığım Rimmel London Reality Chic var. Bu renk, kırmızıya kaçan kahverengi, ya da kahveye kaçan kırmızı. Biraz koyu bir renk, ama sonbahar için çok uygun. Ben bu tip renkleri pek almam, ama bu seri çok hoşuma gitti, ve bu renk de bir istisna değil.
Döndüğüme çok seviniyorum, hepinize iyi geceler diliyorum =)
