>When I first saw this lace manicure at Beutopia, I was amazed how simple it was to recreate a lace look that doesn’t involve actual lace =) She used a nude polish, and two konad images layered on it, the fishnet image from plate m57 and the lace image from m71.
For this manicure I used 2 coats of a pinkish nude polish by Woo, a Turkish brand. Then I stamped the images from m71 and m57 on top of each other, in black.

I think this will look great over grey, red and taupe =)
Happy New Year to everyone, because I don’t think I can update tomorrow =) I hope 2011 will bring you joy, health and luck =)

>Hello everyone =) Anyone remember the manicure inspired by my earrings? Well, I missed doing manicures inspired by my surroundings, so this time I was inspired by my new dress.
I used my own franken as a base, which started as a slate blue, but then got mixed with some purple. (I keep changing my frankens, I can never finish a whole bottle of a franken anyway.)
After applying the base color, I stamped the animal print images from m57 and m50 in black. I could have used m78 for the mixed animal print pattern, but I wanted the design to be a bit more unpredictable, like on my dress.
I wasn’t very good with stamping this time, because I had to be very quick under the air conditioner, and I found it hard to align the patterns as I planned.
Warning: The photographs were taken quickly, and they might suck =)

I’m going to give this one another go, but next time minus m50. That pattern made everything complicated.
Have a good day!

>Hey everyone =) First of all, I want to thank everyone who took their time and voted for their favorite girly manicure. I appreciate all the contribution. Your opinion matters!
Anyway, today I have a manicure which is suitable for both spring and summer. I was thinking of doing a leopard print manicure with colorful spots. For that, I used a mint green franken made of several leftover green frankens and white. I frankened using frankens, that must be a new level, LOL. The spots are all frankens, too, except for China Glaze Lemon Fizz, which is the yellow, and the occasional white. For the stamping I used plate m57 and black special polish. I filled in the spots using an old nail art brush.

I’d like to share my tips and tricks about how to prevent smudging the konad special polishes with a regular topcoat. Would you guys be interested?

>These nails were done very quickly for a night out. I had to go out of the door in 30 minutes, so I didn’t bother shooting the process. I’m still thinking about how to protect my new camera from polish and acetone, and still keeping it close to my hands. In two days the term will be over and I’ll have plenty of time to film tutorials =)
These polishes are all local brand polishes, yet easily dupe-able. I used a bright red on the base, sponged black from the halfway up, and stamped the fishnet from m57 all over the nail with the same black. It doesn’t show up as well as it would have been with the black konad polish, but at least the risk of smudging is almost completely eliminated.
Then I stamped the flowers from the very same plate in silver on top. You can achieve the same look, even better, with China Glaze Millenium, because the polish I used is darker and not perfectly opaque as the Khromes.

I hope you guys enjoyed this set of nails, I really liked the result on my nubs! =)

>Today’s nails are leopard print from m57 on a medium cool pink. Then I added pastel pink dots in the middle of the spots using my self-made freehand brush and my last franken. I poured some polish on the konad plate holder, and dipped the brush very lightly into the polish to do tiny dots. I like the result. I smeared the thumbs a bit, because the base was not completely dry. But the rest went without smudging, and that’s with black special polish and without the Konad topcoat, so I’m proud. The pastel pink dots look like they got smeared a bit, but it’s not noticable IRL, and the mani looks fun, especially from a distance.

And my rarely shown right hand. It was hard to freehand with my left one, as you can see =)

I’m having a hard time these days about my college and personal life. If you read this, please take a few seconds to wish me luck and strength to deal with the issues. (In your hearts, of course, I didn’t mean comments =)

>I got China Glaze Platinum Gold and Platinum Pearl about a year ago, hoping that they could also stamp like Romantique polishes, but I was disappointed. I guess I should have done more research… Anyway, I love Platinum Gold because it’s a lovely bronze, but I can’t say the same for Platinum Pearl. It’s sheer and a bit streaky, but I decided to give it a try. Then I stamped using special polish in white and plates m56 & m57. Please ignore the smeared parts, because they irk me to no end. I just hate that a bottle of topcoat lasts only for about 3-4 weeks.

My nails are bare right now. Tomorrow I’m getting a new topcoat, which means you’re going to see more decent manicures from then on =)

>OK, I hate this mani. But for some strange reason, I like it too. And I’m too tired for removing my nail polish for the 3rd time today, so it stays.
I started off with OPI Bubble Bath. I have to say I’m not too impressed with OPI. The brush is kinda too wide, I’m not used to it. It causes me to make mistakes. The formula is nice, but not that I cry tears of joy. (I was kinda expecting that!) I can live with it, though. Anyway, after 4 coats of Bubble Bath, I nicked my mani. Then I decided to do a konadicure I saw on the Konad page:

I altered the spots a bit, to cover my mistakes. Then I nicked the mani again. And I placed black fishnet design diagonally on the tips. Like randomly. Interesting. Then I applied top coat, which tinted Bubble Bath because of the black tips. Arrrgh! But I wasn’t ready to give up, so I covered the tinted spots with China Glaze Glam. 5 coats of top coat, 4 coats of OPI, 2 coats of Glam and a coat of ridge filler have been used for this mess! Altogether it makes 12 coats. I don’t wanna go through the removal of this!

What do you think? I don’t like it very much, but from a distance it looks bearable to my eyes =)

>Today, my thumb nail broke painfully. It was really nice and long, and I was keeping my tips very strong with Mavala Scientifique, but it had a tear on one side, and when it got stuck while opening a box, it ripped painfully. Now I have it very very short.

PhotobucketI filed all my nails down, and I hope they finally grow out without tearing on the sides this time. They always say thumbnails grow the slowest, but it doesn’t seem to be the case with me, luckily. And my fastest growing nails are my ring fingers.
Anyway, I was kinda unwilling to do a manicure, but I did it anyway, because bare nails are the weakest. The base is Rimmel Your Majesty, and I stamped it with Konad special polish in red, and zebra pattern of m57. The result: Funky Robo-Zebra!

The stamping was complete in 20 seconds. Can you believe that? It’s a personal record!

Here is a bottle picture:

>So after the Konad failure yesterday, I’ve decided to try out another konad design. Actually I was tired of removing all the layers of polish with acetone-free remover, because the one mom got is really bad, it doesn’t do my cuticles and my hands well, I don’t like it. I tried to avoid it till yesterday, but I ran out of my regular polish remover, so I had to use it. Anyway, I kinda half-heartedly put on some pink polish, then I decided I didn’t like it very much and stamped it with the white fishnet design. Then I stamped the flower design from the same palette, m57, in black. Finally I did some freehand black tips. I don’t really like this manicure very much, but it stays until I get my regular polish remover back in stock, and till I have better manicure ideas. Because sometimes I lose my mojo and no polish of mine seems to work that day for me.

Just look at my cuticles. No matter how well I moisturize them after using acetone-free remover, they stay this way for at least a day. Eww.
