>NOTE: Updated this mani with some flakies!

China Glaze Orange Marmalade is an orange glass-fleck polish from their 2009 Summer Days Collection. This color absolutely screams “Summer!” =) It’s a bright orange with yellowish-orange glass flecks. The finish really makes it glow. I’m sure this would even look better on tanned skin, but I’m truly happy with it.

It really glows from within! I did three coats, but I still have some VNL, it could be a better idea to layer this on a matching orange, in my opinion.
W/ flash:

Oh, how this sparkles! So lovely! Even better than glitter =D
I can’t believe how fast my nails are growing now that it’s summer. The pineapple mani was only a week ago!

ETA:I applied Inglot #202 flakies over Orange Marmalade. Coral flakies with greenish flash over microglitter gave my nails a foily, Minx-like look. It looks even better in real life =)

>I dig so-called “fall colors” in spring and summer, and “summer colors” all winter. I’m weird like that… I guess the “season-coordinated colors” idea is not really my thing…
Just discovered this creme polish and brought it home, thinking it would be almost identical to China Glaze Grape Pop, but it’s significantly darker. It’s called Flor Mar Supermatte #120. It looked lighter under the store lights, and I thought it was only a tad darker, but it’s definitely a different color. It’s also leaning a bit warmer, that’s why it’s not blue in front of the camera.
I did a very simple konad using plate m64 and silver metallic polish.

Same polish, different day, with Inglot #202 and China Glaze Matte Magic on top.

More fun manicures to come!

>I have seen this idea somewhere, but I just can’t remember where. It could be a blog or flickr, maybe both! =D If the idea belongs to someone you know, please notify me so that I can credit her. Update: Found it!
I actually wanted to give one of my old Inglot polishes another chance. It’s this beautiful, rich blue/purple duochrome microglitter in the bottle, but sadly it doesn’t transfer on the nails. I used 4 coats, but all I got was a generic muted dark blue with barely visible blue shimmer.
I decided to amp it up a bit by sponging China Glaze Ruby Pumps on the bottom, and then green flakies by Inglot on top of Ruby Pumps.

Because my topcoat has gone bad, again, the thing just wouldn’t dry properly. So I stamped with m36 in silver to cover the dents:

Sorry for the upside-down butterflies. (Again!) I always do the konad so that it’s upright when I look at my nails. I also used the small side of the stamper, that’s why some parts of the small butterfly are missing. The image wouldn’t fit, which I realized after transferring the images to my computer.

Giveaway details will follow in the upcoming days!

>Hello guys =) Sorry for the absence 😉 I have a mani from tha vault to share with you today. It’s a Claire’s polish, made in Turkey. I guess Claire’s Turkey makes a Turkish cosmetic company do a polish line for them, so these polishes are local only. This one is an olive green shimmer. The quality is not nice, I can’t put my finger on the problem with it, maybe it’s the bad brush, or snail-like drying time. Anyway, I topped it with Inglot 203 flakies, aqua/royal blue. And finally stamped them with China Glaze 2030 and konad m54.

My China Glaze Up&Away Collection and real Emerald Sparkle (hopefully) arrives this week! (Thanks to my friend Lizbeth, a.k.a. Lacquered Lizard) Then I’ll be able to do some more exciting manicures =)

>Maybe you have realized, I love Butterflies. And bows. Bows are some of my favorite images, especially those huge ones on m59. Unfortunately it’s almost impossible to have them show up as a whole, my nails are too narrow for them. But I don’t care! By the way, I’m getting better and better at completing the missing parts of the images =) But I can only do that with konad polishes at the moment, because with other polishes, I’d have to work at the speed of light =)))
This is a regular red creme polish, layered with one coat of China Glaze Pure Torture, to make it warm and saucy. I love bright, warm reds, so vintage and glamorous! I still need the perfect red, and although it’s a cool one, Bangin’ from the RBL spring collection seems to be just the perfect red for me. I’ll try to get my hands on it, for sure =)
Anyway, I layered the manicure with one coat of Inglot 202 and stamped with m59 and special polish in white. The result:

One day I’ll be able to fit all those bows on my nails! Hear my oath!!! =D

>A few days ago I was trying to create a sheer blush using a very pale jelly polish and some drops of red. That’s when I accidentaly poured 1/4 bottle of red into the pale polish, and I had this medium, bright jelly pink. Yesterday I put it on, it looked very cool and squishy, but I’m not very fond of medium pinks, and I topped it with Inglot 202 flakes. Today I stamped it with m63 and black polish, but my black is dying and although I diluted it a bit with polish thinner, it’s a sticky mess and though to work with. My Mavadry is on its last drops, and it smeared the konad like crazy. Finally I put on some white bows to cover the Konad failures, which got smeared, too. That’s why the far shot =)

See the flakies? This mani actually looks cool from a distance. I’d like to repeat it when I have a new black & white, and with another base color.

I can hardly tolerate konad mistakes on myself. I’m kinda OCD =)

>I did it. Because I had to do it.
For the first time in three months, I went short with my nails. I feel terrible. Today I realized after taking off my nail polish, that my right pinky was torn on the side. I tried to buff it so that the crack would sink in, but using my recessive hand caused a disaster, my nail tore from side to side, in a matter of a milisecond. It was painful, and I was frustrated! Then I decided to chop my nails, because it makes no sense to run around with long nails when one or two nails are just little nubbins. So I grabbed the toenail clipper and… You know the rest.
Don’t get me wrong, I love short nails on other people and they don’t bother me at all, but after all the effort for growing them longer, it’s frustrating to have them break just like so. I wonder if I ever have even nails at one time. I swear, before I became obsessed with my nails, everything was smoother…
So today’s mani is the offspring of my depression. I just slapped some polish and layered it, and this came out.

This is Inglot #202 (green/pink flakies) over regular black creme polish, topped at first with China Glaze Matte Magic, then the underside with shiny topcoat. So those thick lines are not intended to be french tips =) When using a matte top coat, I recommend using it over regular top coat, because even when matte top coats dry quickly, they are not like quick-dry top coats, and they dent.

Look how short they are! I only didn’t shorten my left pinky, because pinkies are such a pain in the butt to grow.

>The past few days have been kinda hectic. I was busy and rushing all the time, and had to wear boring, professional colors. I actually love those classic shades, too, but I was in such a hurry that I did a slightly messy manicure and after taking it off immediately after the seminar, I celebrated my freedom by doing the following layering:

It’s 3 coats of the aqua creme polish by Claire’s, a dupe of China Glaze Shower Together, maybe a bit more blueish and vibrant. I topped it with green/blue opalescent flakies by Inglot, #203. The result is so beautiful, I can’t take my eyes off of my nails. They remind me of exotic places, the ocean and aqua world, that’s how refreshing they look. My boyfriend just fell in love with the color. He’s an artist, and I took it as a great compliment =)

I took this picture yesterday after applying, and it’s before the cleanup. Sorry about the messy cuticles =)
And this is what I wore for a few days, just before the seminar. A classic burgundy/red creme, 4 coats. Looks similar to OPI’s Got The Blues For Red in the bottle.

By the way, my China Glaze haul from finally arrived today, and pictures will be up tomorrow.
