>I’ve been ill in the last couple of weeks, first I got Pharyngitis, then while recovering I was infected with common flu. Flu hit me much harder than it would normally do, I had fever and I felt very weak. I didn’t polish my nails, plus I broke yet another nail so I chopped them all down. This time I will baby them like crazy, and they will grow out to a decent length. Or so do I hope.
Last week I received 2 polishes from Orly Sweet Collection for consideration. Today I applied both of them at the same time. I have Orly Cotton Candy on my ring and thumb, and Orly Gumdrop on the rest. The application was a bit troublesome. I didn’t like how chalky the polishes were. No matter how much I wiped the brush, there was always some extra polish on it to ruin the manicure. All nails are 3 coats. Then I drew vertical lines with Essie Van D’Go on Cotton Candy and Essie Mint Candy Apple on Gumdrop. Finally I added the ribbon image from konad m56 on all nails, with matching pearls in the middle.

They remind me of cute boxes full of sweets with a ribbon on top =)
*Orly polishes were given to me for consideration.

Oh, by the way I found a Turkish seller that has listed lots of American Apparel polishes, and I bought 6 pcs =) I was able to get all the ugly colors I wanted, I’m so happy!

Top row: Mount Royal, Dynasty, Trench Coat
Bottom row: California Trooper, McArthur Park, Passport Blue
The formula seems to be great, can’t wait to try these! =)

Alt sıra: California Trooper, McArthur Park, Passport Blue
Formülleri çoğunlukla harika, denemek için sabırsızlanıyorum =)

>Hello Ladies and Gents, if there are any =) Today I have a set of very girly and cute nails to show. I used China Glaze IV as a base. It’s from their Anniversary collection, and I realized that not many people have noticed this little beauty. IV is a carnation pink creme, very light and pretty. It’s one of my favorite polishes. Then I stamped the ribbon design from m56 across each nail, and filled the space underneath with polka dots from plate m45. I used Konad special polish in white for the designs. Finally I blinged the ribbons with clear rhinestones.

By the way, I’m starting to get used to this nail length. But I want to ask you guys anyway, which nail length do you think suits me the best?

I’d appreciate your feedback!

>This is my first attempt at Valentine’s Day Mani =) It’s kinda lame, I know =D Overly girly, even for me!
I used 4 coats of a sheer white polish, which looks pink on the nails in a strange way. OO – kay. Then I used plates m59 and m56, and my frankens which can be seen here and here for the stamping. I freehanded the alternating french tips.

What do you think about my french tips? I hate using m19, it’s far worse than the other french tip plates. I never seem to get it right! Are they OK this way or do you reckon I should learn to use it? =)

>Hello everyone! Sorry for the absence, it has been such a hectic week for me… Thank God, everything will be over on the 27th. Phew! That’s the bad thing about being a last minute person =)
Anyway, today I’m going to show you the nails from the past week. First: sunshine yellow jelly polish from Clarie’s & konad m53:

This was 5 coats!!! I loved this one, but sadly it was not fully dry for a few hours, and I managed to nick it at the cuticles, which I hate. Tips can be covered, but cuticles not =(

Then I have the coral/pink pastel polish, layered with China Glaze Pure Torture. I looooove Pure Torture, so happy I got it. I can layer one coat over any red, and it turns this gorgeous, bright, saucy red I love, and can’t find anywhere!!!

A layered konad using m74. I don’t know what was going on in my mind, I was sleepless for 32 hours that day =D

Then I did a full mani with China Glaze Glam:

Glam is sooo bumpy, and runny, I like it but I wasn’t very careful with the application, so it didn’t stay very long.

Finally, my current mani, inspired by the sudden snowstorm outside. I used the magnificent purple glitter polish I recently discovered, plate m59 and my latest silver polish find:

Don’t forget to take a look at Lacquer Link Love for 01/22/2010 over at Polishswatches!

>I got China Glaze Platinum Gold and Platinum Pearl about a year ago, hoping that they could also stamp like Romantique polishes, but I was disappointed. I guess I should have done more research… Anyway, I love Platinum Gold because it’s a lovely bronze, but I can’t say the same for Platinum Pearl. It’s sheer and a bit streaky, but I decided to give it a try. Then I stamped using special polish in white and plates m56 & m57. Please ignore the smeared parts, because they irk me to no end. I just hate that a bottle of topcoat lasts only for about 3-4 weeks.

My nails are bare right now. Tomorrow I’m getting a new topcoat, which means you’re going to see more decent manicures from then on =)

>A few days ago I was trying to create a sheer blush using a very pale jelly polish and some drops of red. That’s when I accidentaly poured 1/4 bottle of red into the pale polish, and I had this medium, bright jelly pink. Yesterday I put it on, it looked very cool and squishy, but I’m not very fond of medium pinks, and I topped it with Inglot 202 flakes. Today I stamped it with m63 and black polish, but my black is dying and although I diluted it a bit with polish thinner, it’s a sticky mess and though to work with. My Mavadry is on its last drops, and it smeared the konad like crazy. Finally I put on some white bows to cover the Konad failures, which got smeared, too. That’s why the far shot =)

See the flakies? This mani actually looks cool from a distance. I’d like to repeat it when I have a new black & white, and with another base color.

I can hardly tolerate konad mistakes on myself. I’m kinda OCD =)

>Oh, I’m sooo excited about the upcoming China Glaze Spring 2010 Collection, called Up&Away! It will consist of 12 pastel cremes, including a mint green, a pastel lilac, two yellows and two greens =) I wouldn’t be surprised if I’d order the whole collection!

Edit: Yay! See some swatches of the upcoming China Glaze Collection, Up&Away here:

I also want to get my hands on the OPI Hong Kong Collection, for sure. But I will always have a special place in my heart for China Glaze. =)
Today’s manicure was actually supposed to be China Glaze Atlantis, but I had a last minute mind change and put on Lubu Heels. I was going to leave it that way, but I smudged two fingers. Lubu Heels takes forever to dry! Then I remembered gildedangel‘s vampy flowers color combination, which I liked very much, and stamped the nails using plate m56 and China Glaze Devotion.

With flash:

I think it looks pretty interesting when french tips are used this way. On my right hand they are placed more diagonally, because I still can’t stamp with my left hand as well as I can with my right hand! Grrr.
